Here's Looking At You

In this lesson, observation skills are strengthened through a series of timed, guided observations of a live fish. Students make increasingly detailed drawings to generalize form and function of a fish anatomy.

1. The function or use of something is usually related to its shape.

2. Living things have physical characteristics that allow them to survive. They use these characteristics to meet their basic needs for food, oxygen, protection, shelter and reproduction.

3. Knowing what animals do to survive allows one to make predictions about their characteristics.
